Iron inside-out on the lowest setting only if required. Do not steam directly onto fabric surface. Gentle steaming at distance (≥ 20 cm) is acceptable for light de-wrinkling.

Do not bleach

No bleaching agents of any kind. Chlorine bleach will permanently damage the silk fibre.

Storage

Store on a padded hanger in a cool, dry environment, away from direct light and heat sources. For long-term storage, wrap in acid-free tissue paper. Avoid sealed plastic bags, which trap humidity and can cause yellowing of natural silk.

End of Life

Biodegradable natural fibre

The silk shell is a protein fibre (fibroin). Under controlled biodegradation testing (ISO 14855 / OECD 301-series) silk breaks down fully; in soil the shell fabric is estimated to biodegrade within 1–5 years and sheds no microplastics. Before composting, remove the YKK zip (polyester tape and metal slider) and the care label (typically woven polyester). Sewing thread on this garment is 100% natural silk — biodegradable, no removal required. Verify any other trims with brand customer service prior to composting.

Repairability High. Single-layer construction with 15 mm seam allowances throughout. All seams sewn with natural silk thread — fully compatible with re-stitching.

Repair scope Seam reconstruction, fabric patching, hem re-stitching, and zip replacement. The closure is a standard YKK coil zip — no proprietary or brand-locked hardware; any qualified tailor can source and replace it.
