Care Instructions
Follow carefully to maximise garment lifespan
Machine wash 30 °C · inside out
Turn inside out before washing to preserve indigo surface. Gentle cycle. Wash with similar colours — indigo may transfer in first washes.
Tumble dry low or line dry
Tumble dry low for softer hand. Line dry inside out to slow fading. Remove promptly to avoid creasing.
No bleach
Bleach will destroy indigo dye and organic cotton fibres. No oxygen bleach either.
Warm iron if needed · max 150 °C
Iron inside out. Heavy denim benefits from steam ironing — straightens seams and softens texture.
Dry clean permitted
Dry cleaning is safe but not needed for routine care.
Storage
Hang or fold. No special requirements. Allow the jacket to air between wears — denim benefits from fresh air more than frequent washing. Spot-clean minor marks with a damp cloth rather than a full wash to preserve indigo depth.
End of Life — Recyclability
The shell and pocket bags (organic cotton + 2% elastane) are partially recyclable via mechanical cotton recycling streams. Elastane content reduces recyclability — the 2% cannot be separated without chemical processes. Hardware (buttons, rivets) should be removed for metal recycling.

Donate wearable items to partnered clothing banks. End-of-life items accepted at Maison Sample stockists for fibre recycling via Worn Again Technologies. Brass hardware recovered for metal recycling.
Repair & Longevity
How to extend the life of this garment
- Seam repair
- Flat-felled seams throughout for strength. Re-sewing in matching cotton thread by any tailor.
- Rivets / buttons
- Brass rivets and buttons can be replaced individually. Bring to a cobbler or leather goods repair for rivet setting.
- Pocket bags
- GOTS cotton pocket bags can be replaced independently. Standard CMT construction.
- Lifespan
- Quality denim improves with wear. Expected lifespan 10+ years with correct care.
